My best friend Darlene and I
Girls love their sugar :)
During the Summer month we were lucky enough to get to go up to Roosevelt Lake several times with our family and friends. This is one of the yearly traditions that we have because it is so relaxing and just a great place to be able to hang out with all our family and friends. We were able to bring Jake and Darla with us several times that we went up. This is one tradition that we are going to keep and can not wait to share with our little one next year.

In September, Blaine and I took 7 day Mexican Riviera Cruise. We had such a great time visiting all the different parts of Mexico and just being able to relax on the boat by the pool. We were a little worried about the weather since it was forecast to rain several days that we were at port. We were very blessed and only on 1 day of the 7 did it rain and it was a very light rain at that. We had three ports that we visited: Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan, and Cabo San Lucas. Each port was something new and different to explore and see. In Puerto Vallarta we took a boat to a secluded island so that we could swim and snorkel. Since this was the port we were at the longest we were also able to do a sunset horse back ride with dinner. The dinner and the sunset were both so amazing! We went through a plush green forest with lots to see. After Puerto Vallarta we went to Mazatlan were we did more of just a city tour so that we could see more of what the city was like. The city was amazing even though it was raining lightly, we had a great time. The last stop on our cruise was to Cabo San Lucas. Here were took ATV's and did a beach ride, which was just amazing. Overall, this cruse was well worth it and needed since both Blaine and I had been working so hard all year.

On June 21 my best friend Darlene got married! It was such a beautiful event and I was lucky enough to be in the wedding party as the matron of honor. Darlene looked so pretty in her gown that I think everyone cried. The ceremony was held in Tucson, AZ at Sky Line Country Club. The views and sunset were amazing and gave them such amazing pictures! After the wedding there was a great reception that everyone was able to dance and have a great time into the night before saying good bye to the newly weds. Soon after Darlene was married she was off to live in Las Vegas to start her first year in Pharmacy school. While it was very sad to see her go, I know that she will do amazing. While I miss her very much, we make sure to find time to still talk almost everyday and see each other every couple of months.

I could not have thought of a better way to end 2008 than to find out that Blaine and I are expecting our first little one! We found out about mid October, but decided that it was best to wait until our first trimester was over before we told everyone our great news. Lucky for us my first trimester was over at the beginning of December and as part of our Christmas card we let all our family and friends know about our little bundle of joy on the way.
Even though 2008 is now over, it was a great year and 2009 will be even better. Blaine and I are very excited for June 21, 2009 to be here so we can welcome the newest member of our family to the world. We wish everyone a wonderful holiday season and the best of wishes for 2009!
